We are a SILVER ‘Rights Respecting School’

We are delighted to to have achieved our ‘Silver Rights Aware’ accreditation and are now well on our way to achieving the next level award; GOLD.

Our whole school community, including our steering group are working hard to raise awareness of the rights in order to underpin everything we do in our school.

UNICEF, the organisers of this award are the world’s leading organisation, they work for children and their rights.

In 1989, governments worldwide promised all children the same rights by adopting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The rights are based on what a child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfil their potential.

The ‘Rights Respecting School’ award (RRSA) will help our pupils to grow into confident, caring and responsible young citizens, both in school and within the wider community. The children will learn about their rights and about the importance of respecting the rights of others.
